A few new announcements:

  1. We would like to welcome Elise Ardizzi (intern therapist) Caitlin Bevers RMT and Spencer Walker-Counsellor to Grandview. Feel free to give their Bios a look.

  2. Face masks are now optional for clients and Practioners within the clinic, as well as throughout the building. We ask that everyone respect each other’s choice regarding this, thank you.

  3. We have re-created a little reception area with two chairs so no need to stand waiting in the hallway; come on in and relax, or help yourself to the washroom key. We just ask for mindfulness of noise (ideally being silent) in the waiting area as there is a treatment room right beside you.

  • Please note: the new fee schedule for Teressa Euley & Caitlin Bevers can be found under her profile.

With gratitude, skilled hands and an open heart,

~The team at Grandview~

Hi, my name is Spencer (any pronouns) and I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor specializing in mental health therapy for children and adults with disabilities and various medical conditions. My client focus is neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities.

My integrative therapeutic approach is adaptable for different types of communication and attention styles. I use art, drama, movement, play, and verbal approaches in order to find a way of working that suits you!

I completed a Master of Arts in Creative Arts Therapies (Drama Therapy option) from Concordia University in 2020, which allowed me to train with children and adults with a variety of disabilities and medical conditions.

My therapeutic experience began at the Centre for Arts in Human Development in Montreal, facilitating group and individual drama therapy sessions for adults with developmental disabilities. Additionally, I worked both individually and with patient groups (inpatient) in the Child Psychiatry Day Treatment Program at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. In 2019, I worked as a Drama Therapy Researcher at Easter Seals Camp Horizon in Bragg Creek, Alberta studying caregiver burnout in young adults as well as working with children and adults with various types of disabilities and medical conditions.

I moved to Vancouver in the fall of 2020 and have been running my private therapy practice since early 2021. Outside of my work, I enjoy hiking, rock climbing and meeting new dogs.

Practicing Intern Massage Therapist

An Intern is a student at a recognized massage therapy school and receives hundreds of hours of training and in-clinic experience. Interns are not registered, therefore if you want to claim the treatment through your extended health care you will need to book with one of our RMTs. However, if you are out of benefits or need therapy, this is the time to enjoy.

Denis started his massage therapy practice in 2009 after graduating from The West Coast College of Massage. His passion for massage was born while working through his own injuries, and supporting friends and family through their physical challenges. Since becoming a therapist, Denis has worked extensively with standard and complex orthopaedic conditions, concussions, pregnancies as well as the stressors of everyday life, chronic neck, back and pelvic issues.

He strives to find daily activities that will benefit you, the client, which can also be integrated with ease. Denis’s passion for understanding his clients’ needs and exploring new models of therapy and personal training, have allowed him to find a variety of ways for clients to integrate activity into their lives.

As a Registered Massage Therapist he has combined a variety of treatment models with the base models being myofascial, deep muscle release, and cranial sacral therapy. Within this framework he continues to work with his clients to find balance between mind/body and the body’s ability to hold and release emotions. His work can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combinations with other professional services such as physiotherapy, psychotherapy, yoga therapy, etc.

When he’s not at the clinic he is teaching Anatomy and Physiology, playing the sport of the season, or sitting back and enjoying a little time to himself.

:)

He accepts cash, etransfer, debit, visa, MC and Amex. Direct billing is only to Blue Cross.

Elise, graduating from VCMT, is embarking on her journey as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Currently, she is honing her skills as a Massage Intern at Grandview Massage Therapy, where she is gaining valuable hands-on experience. Her ultimate goal is to transition into an RMT role within the clinic.

Elise’s dedication to helping people feel their best stems from a deeply personal experience— the sudden loss of her mother to a heart attack. This pivotal moment inspired Elise to prioritize her own health and pursue a fulfilling career centered around assisting others.

Elise finds fulfillment in working with all demographics, with a special focus on infants, children, and young people. Having embarked on her journey with massage therapy at a young age, she remains dedicated to advocating the benefits of massage to all demographics. She thoroughly enjoys practicing various techniques of Swedish massage, paying particular attention to face, scalp, neck, hands, and feet. Elise is also captivated by the emerging trend of “Face lift” massage techniques and looks forward to incorporating them into her practice as her career progresses, as the face is an area often overlooked but integral in reducing nervous system activation.

As a member of the queer community herself, Elise understands the importance of creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone. She is open and happy to treat individuals from diverse backgrounds, embracing the uniqueness of each client with empathy and respect.

With her genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, Elise looks forward to fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and cared for of all ages. She is excited to contribute to the clinic’s ongoing success while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves.

Hi! My name is Caitlin, born and raised on a farm in Southern Alberta but I consider BC to be home. I moved here in 2019 to attend the Registered Massage Therapy program at VACC. I have worked with individuals experiencing sports injuries, high-risk pregnancies, stress and anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, post-operative care, and every day postural dysfunctions.

I believe every individual is unique with a unique set of symptoms and history, and I will adapt each visit to accommodate your bodies needs. My approach to massage is evidence based, empathetic, non-judgmental, and I am passionate about creating a sacred and safe space within my treatment room.

Outside of work you can find me balancing adventures of backpacking and bungee-jumping with quiet hobbies of reading in a park to re-charge. I look forward to being a part of your wellness journey and being with you every step of the way to provide efficient recovery.
