A few new announcements:

  1. We would like to welcome Angela Cullins RMT, Caitlin Bevers RMT and Spencer Walker-Counsellor to Grandview. Feel free to give their Bio a look.

  2. Face masks are now optional for clients and Practioners within the clinic, as well as throughout the building. We ask that everyone respect each other’s choice regarding this, thank you.

  3. We have re-created a little reception area with two chairs so no need to stand waiting in the hallway; come on in and relax, or help yourself to the washroom key. We just ask for mindfulness of noise (ideally being silent) in the waiting area as there is a treatment room right beside you.

  • Please note: the new fee schedule for Teressa Euley can be found under her profile.

With gratitude, skilled hands and an open heart,

~The team at Grandview~

Hi! My name is Caitlin, born and raised on a farm in Southern Alberta but I consider BC to be home. I moved here in 2019 to attend the 2800 grueling hour program at VACC to become a Registered Massage Therapist. I have worked with individuals experiencing sports injuries, high-risk pregnancies, addiction recoveries, stress and anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, post-operative care, and every day postural dysfunctions.

I believe every individual is unique and has a unique set of symptoms and history. My approach to massage is evidence based, empathetic, non-judgemental, and I am passionate about creating a sacred and safe space within my treatment room. My style mainly incorporates a variety of effective techniques such as Myofascial release, Joint Mobilization, and Swedish, and I will adapt each visit to accommodate your bodies needs.

Outside of work you can find me balancing adrenaline pumped adventures of backpacking and bungee-jumping with quiet hobbies of making pierogies and reading in a park to re-charge. I look forward to being a part of your wellness journey and being with you every step of the way to provide efficient recovery.

Denis started his massage therapy practice in 2009 after graduating from The West Coast College of Massage. His passion for massage was born while working through his own injuries, and supporting friends and family through their physical challenges. Since becoming a therapist, Denis has worked extensively with standard and complex orthopaedic conditions, concussions, pregnancies as well as the stressors of everyday life, chronic neck, back and pelvic issues.

He strives to find daily activities that will benefit you, the client, which can also be integrated with ease. Denis’s passion for understanding his clients’ needs and exploring new models of therapy and personal training, have allowed him to find a variety of ways for clients to integrate activity into their lives.

As a Registered Massage Therapist he has combined a variety of treatment models with the base models being myofascial, deep muscle release, and cranial sacral therapy. Within this framework he continues to work with his clients to find balance between mind/body and the body’s ability to hold and release emotions. His work can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combinations with other professional services such as physiotherapy, psychotherapy, yoga therapy, etc.

When he’s not at the clinic he is teaching Anatomy and Physiology, playing the sport of the season, or sitting back and enjoying a little time to himself.

As a former professional athlete, Vlad gained extensive knowledge and deep understanding of the human body, capability, flexibility, anatomy and physiology. Early in his sports career, Vlad experienced the importance of healing on all levels, benefiting from massage therapy immensely. As his interest in body work as a healing modality grew, Vlad became Certified Yumeiho Kotsuban Therapist in Europe, 2008. With continued exploration of the nature of touch, Vlad finally discovered the Globwell holistic approach and integrated it in all the techniques he offers: Deep Tissue, Sports, Relax, Aromatherapy.

Sharing his knowledge and experience, Vlad has dedicated 15+ years to caring for people who are in need of healing and relaxation.

APPROACH

(client fully clothed, mat on the floor, oil-free)

Yumeiho Kotsuban manual therapy is a preventative and therapeutic method used to treat many issues caused by everyday life and activity. Additional benefit is the feeling of total relaxation and rejuvenation, which most of the clients describe as getting taller, stronger or straighter. Japanese Yumeiho therapy is based on the belief that our pelvis is the center and foundation of our skeleton. The main goal of Yumeiho therapy is to mobilize the auto-therapeutic or self-healing forces of our organism by aligning the vertebral column, pelvis and all joints properly. One session lasts for 60 minutes during which a therapist uses 100 different moves. During the Yumeiho treatment the patient is fully clothed in comfortable and loose clothes. Yumeiho treatment is performed on a special mattress placed on the floor. What characterizes Yumeiho is a vertical pressure on the meridians and vital points with the palms. This softens the muscle tissue and improves the flow of peripheral circulation and qi energy through the entire body. With the gentle stretching integrated in Yumeiho, the flexibility of muscles can be achieved, improved and maintained.

With Globwell Holistic Approach general wellbeing is achieved through special treatment - a combination of traditional wisdom and modern medical science. Thanks to the good energy balance that is established by working on energy centers and channels, it is possible to carry out lymphatic drainage of the whole organism in cases that are otherwise contraindicated. It is intended for most clients, regardless of gender and age, and is offering the feeling of relief, alleviation or complete disappearance of the issues caused by improper sitting, straining physical activity, poor nutrition and exposure to stressful situations - symptoms that would otherwise linger for a long period of time.

When Vlad is not applying manual therapy, you can find him practicing different mobility, strength and flexibility exercises in local parks. Vladimir is also a licensed international instructor of BodyArt Training - physical, mental and spiritual practice that can improve mobility, agility, flexibility and emotional openness through sequences of natural movements followed by deep, rhythmical breathing.

Forms of payment are: e-transfer, cash or cheque only. GST included.
